About the Event

AI Short Film Making is AI-generated cinema — direct, generate and edit a short film powered by AI. It’s a crash course in building a creative studio of one: you’re the director, the production house and the pitch team.

The entrepreneurial edge here is the same one every solo creator-founder has to figure out: how to produce something that used to need a full crew, a budget and weeks of turnaround, using nothing but tools and taste. You’re making calls a studio head would make — what story is worth telling, what the budget of your time actually buys, and how to ship on a deadline instead of endlessly polishing.

AI video tools are opening up film and content as a viable one-person business, and this is where you find out if you can run that business end to end — concept, generation, edit, delivery. Total prize pool: ₹2,00,000 for the best films.

Rules

  1. 01Teams of 1–3 members.
  2. 02The film must be primarily AI-generated — visuals, voice or editing.
  3. 03Film length within the stated limit; credits must list all tools used.
  4. 04No copyrighted characters, music or footage without rights.
  5. 05Judging is on story, originality, visual quality and use of AI.

Online Submission — Guidelines & Deliverables

Deadline: 26 September 2026 (Submission deadline)

What to submit

  • The finished short film (max 5 minutes) as an unlisted YouTube / Google Drive link — 1080p or higher, MP4.
  • A short making-of note or tool list (PDF or text): every AI tool used and roughly what it was used for.
  • A storyboard or prompt breakdown (optional).
  • Credits must list all tools used and confirm no copyrighted characters, music or footage were used without rights.

How to submit

  1. Complete your registration payment — project submission stays locked until payment is confirmed.
  2. Go to the Participant Dashboard at kaya.azmth.in/dashboard and sign in with your registered email (one-time code).
  3. Open your registration card for this event and fill the Project Submission form: project title, description (what you built and how it answers the brief), and the links below.
  4. Paste your GitHub / source URL, live demo URL and video / presentation URL into their fields. Put any deck or document link in the description if there is no dedicated field.
  5. Hit Submit. You can come back and edit any field until the deadline — the last saved version is what gets judged.

Format & naming

  • All links must be public or unlisted and must stay live until results are announced — no login walls, no expiring links.
  • Videos: MP4, 1080p or higher, within the max length for this event. Host on YouTube (unlisted) or Google Drive (anyone-with-link).
  • Documents: PDF only. Name files as TeamID_Event_Deck.pdf (e.g. KT-2001_Hackathon_Deck.pdf).
  • Google Drive links must have "Anyone with the link – Viewer" access. Test it in an incognito window before submitting.

What gets you disqualified

  • Missing a mandatory deliverable at the deadline.
  • Broken, private or expired links that cannot be accessed by judges.
  • Work created before the event window, or plagiarised / AI-passed-off-as-original where the brief requires your own work.
  • Exceeding the stated word or time limits.

Build Your Dream Team

Different skills make a stronger team. Here's who to bring:

A writer/director who crafts the story and structure.

A prompt engineer for visuals and consistency.
